Environmental Issues

It is the responsibility of the waste producer to keep their waste safely and to ensure that they protect their waste against the following:

  1. Corrosion or wear of waste containers
  2. Accidental spilling or leaking or inadvertent leaching from waste unprotected from rainfall
  3. Accident or weather breaking contained waste open and allowing it to escape
  4. Waste blowing away or falling while stored or transported
  5. Scavenging of waste by vandals, thieves, children, trespassers or animals

Waste Holders should protect waste against these risks while it is in their possession.

The above is taken from the Waste Management, The Duty of Care, A Code of Practice – Environmental Protection Act 1990 – Section 34 – 2.1 – 2.2

Scrap is one of those areas where the emphasis on quality is frequently lax and the condition of equipment supplied very poor. Alchemy’s emphasis is not only our professional image but more importantly our customers.

Your image is important to us and we will go that extra mile to ensure that the equipment we supply caters not only for the environmental issues that you need to protect against, fulfilling your companies obligations under section 2.1 & 2.2 of the duty of care but also caters for your professional image to your customers in all areas of your works. The scrap area need not be an area to avoid now.

Nearly all of our equipment is seam welded and watertight to ensure no spillage of residual coolant and contamination of your works. All of our containers go through a frequent repair and repaint schedule and should our equipment fail to meet these standards, we will address any issues promptly.
